Pizza House Simulator Demo First Update Notes

June 2026 demo QoL that still shapes how the full Amalfi kitchen feels after launch.

Demo First Update

Before the 19 August 2026 Steam launch, Pizza House Simulator’s demo received a substantial Steam news update (dated mid-June 2026). Many of those verbs still matter for owners who learned the shop in Next Fest and then bought the full release. This page is a teaching summary of that demo post. Living launch notes: launch notes. Post-launch numbered patch: patch 1.005. Index: Updates Hub.

Portable order tablet

Your order screen stopped being glued to one spot. You can pick up the tablet and carry it next to the oven, the counter, or wherever your eyes need tickets. That habit still belongs in Rush Hour and How to Make Pizza: keep the queue where the bottleneck is, not where the UI designer first parked it.

Steam co-op invites and solo pause

Steam invites became a first-class join path—accept and drop into a friend’s session. Escape pause in solo was added, and it automatically resumes when a friend joins. Those two sentences are why Co-op Multiplayer warns you not to sit in a pause menu during invite storms. Join-by-code was fixed to connect correctly or fail with a clear error instead of a ghost “session found” state.

Horse racing and credit that still teach empire habits

Horse racing was rebalanced so studying form actually pays: careful statistics were described as roughly twice as likely to pick a winner versus pure random bets. Favorites shorten as they attract attention; upsets still happen. A bad-luck protection layer reduces extreme losing streaks, and a bug that quietly weakened every horse was fixed. Credit limits were reworked to follow credit score instead of cash on hand, so borrowing no longer collapses the moment the till is empty. Full empire guidance: loans and stocks. Do not treat either system as a day-one oven.

Kitchen and multiplayer fixes owners still feel

The same post listed fixes that echo in launch week complaints:

  • Emotes broadcasting to other players.
  • Trash bin blockers so fresh ingredients stop vanishing into the bin.
  • Counter collision so items are not grabbed through the top.
  • Held drinks, trays, and pizzas no longer disappearing when you sprint.
  • Stuck mid-air items auto-dropped.
  • Dough vanishing on certain E presses fixed.
  • Launch crash tied to Steam configuration.
  • Movement collisions, money reset after save/load, shop stats order.
  • Nameplates at standing versus seated height.
  • Table numbers readable farther away.
  • Empty meshes for dough, oil, and sauce powder.
  • Cold-area decal on the freezer.
  • Payment ledger on the counter.
  • End-of-day star reaction animation.
  • Missing localization filled in.

If your full-game install still looks like the broken demo afternoon, verify files and open troubleshooting before you rewrite your motto.

What the demo update does not replace

The demo remained a cooking preview. Automation depth, disasters as a lifestyle, Twitch/Kick hooks, and the full day-one kitchen (fryer, wine, three-tier stations, fifty-plus calendar tags) belong to the release—see Day-One Kitchen Reveal. Staff hiring in the full sense is a release system; use staff and hiring. Hardware: system requirements. Store and demo app links: Links Hub.

Read this page when a friend says “the demo already fixed that.” Sometimes they are right. Sometimes they are remembering a different Tuesday. Steam news wins the argument. Then go cook a lunch with the first-shift checklist and leave the horse window closed until the stone is boring.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers drawn from the kitchen loop, co-op lobbies, and economy systems.

Was the portable tablet in the demo update?

Yes. Steam news added a carryable order tablet so tickets can sit beside the oven or counter.

Does credit still follow cash on hand?

No. The demo update tied borrowing to credit score so a empty till does not erase your limit.

Should I still play the demo after buying the full game?

Only as a nostalgia kitchen. The release is the empire, fryer, calendar, and disaster game.
